Dealing With Our Fears (Mark 6: 48-51)

We have all been living with fear, fear of the coronavirus pandemic, fear of the unknown, what to expect or even how long this Covid -19 will continue. While we don’t have a vaccine yet, there are some things we can and do to control and treat Covid-19.

One word we hear used is mitigation. What does this mean and why is it so important? Mitigation is the the term used to show the effort to reduce the loss of life by lessening the impact of disasters. In short, its the effort to reduce loss of life. Effective mitigation is used to analyze risks, reducing risks and insuring against risk.

Effective mitigation requires that we all understand the local risks, make the hard choices and invest in long term community well-being. One way to reduce or eliminate long-term risk is social and/or physical distancing.
